Toronto Raptors vs. Milwaukee Bucks, 11/2/19 Prediction & Odds

Giannis and the Bucks will present an important test for Siakam Anunoby

Giannis and the Bucks will present an important test for Siakam Anunoby

In their first matchup of the season with the team that ended their playoff run a year ago, the Milwaukee Bucks produced a strong performance to come away with another important win.

After Kawhi Leonard made a decision to return home to play for the Los Angeles Clippers, Toronto Raptors fans found a way to move on.

Even though Milwaukee will be highly motivated for this game, I like that the Raptors have had rest and have played well thus far this season. (Pascal) Siakam has stepped up a lot for this team.

Antetokounmpo posted career highs across the board last season with 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists, to go along with 1.5 blocks and 1.3 steals per game. Marc Gasol grabbed 12 rebounds and had 10 points.

When the Raptors brought it to 96-100, Lowry had already spent such an outrageous amount of the game pulling the Raptors to that point, that it seemed like he needed a breather.

During this campaign he visited all of Texas' 254 counties and raised more than $80 million in campaign contributions. As the initial buzz over his campaign began to subside, Mr O'Rourke tried to reboot his candidacy.

With Kyle Lowry leading the comeback charge, the visitors turned a 26-point deficit to a four-point disadvantage three times in the fourth quarter.

Eric Bledsoe added 14 points and nine rebounds for the Bucks, while Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez each had 11 points.

As we've seen so many times before, Giannis Antetokounmpo dominated this game from start to finish. When we get those big leads and they start to make a run, we just gotta lock in. People are coming after us; nothing's going to be given to us.

Hampered again by early foul trouble - Siakam had two in the first five minutes and had to sit down - he had only 16 points and never really got rolling before fouling out with 1:41 left in the game.

We know Antetokounmpo is a force in the paint on the offensive end, but watching him grow as a passer is an encouraging sign from a player who draws as much attention as he does.

Toronto's first quarter had them chasing the Bucks the entire game, getting behind the 8-ball early with bad defence, a handful of turnovers and a large number of missed shots. Lowry scored only two points in the fourth, a driving layup for the Raptors' final margin. It was Milwaukee's first consecutive wins on the young season after defeating Orlando on the road Friday night.

"I think there's a little bit of lackadaisical once we get a lead", said Bucks guard Donte DiVincenzo, who scored eight points off the bench. It was his second-ever National Basketball Association outing with at least 35 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks with the first stemming from last March.

Siakam came in with three games of 30-plus points already compared to just five last season.

To their credit, the Bucks responded in the fourth by allowing just 15 points, which was a big factor in securing the win, as were some incredible plays by Giannis.
