Romney Bashed as 'Total Loser' After Secret Twitter Account Is Discovered

Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, admitted in a new interview that he maintains a secret Twitter account, which he marked as private Sunday after its details were revealed.

The senator declined to name the account, noting only that he was "following 668 people", listing journalists, late-night comedians and athletes, Coppins reported.

Romney told The Atlantic that he used the account "to keep tabs on the political conversation".

After the profile published, Slate's Ashley Feinberg dug through Romney's family members' Twitter profiles in the hunt for the senator's "lurker" account, an "annoying-but-not-impossible feat", she wrote.

McKay Coppins, the writer of the Atlantic piece that sparked this detective work, reached out to Romney to ask him about it. Reports claim US troops hardly "left" Syria & airspace still "under control" US President Donald Trump's decision to pull troops out of northern Syria has polarized Washington, but according to some senior officials, it's not the full-scale retreat ceding the territory to the Turks it's being portrayed as.

Footage of Thursday's chaos on social media showed panicked residents fleeing and high caliber gunfire ringing out across town. During the confrontation, other members of an organized criminal group arrived on scene, with more firepower than authorities.

Mr Trump's anger at Mr Romney's criticism over the Ukraine scandal, which triggered the impeachment inquiry, has been evident in a string of tweets he has issued, one with the phrase #IMPEACHMITTROMNEY. The former Republican presidential nominee created the account in 2011, just before announcing his bid for the White House. Romney liked a few tweets that called Graham and Rubio's character, integrity, and courage into question.

Trump was not among the accounts followed.

The 10 tweets by the account were responses to negative comments or news stories involving Romney, Feinberg reported.

Huckabee, who served as the governor of Arkansas, criticized Romney as well.

In June, Pierre tweeted back at former CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien, who accused Romney of having an "utter lack of a moral compass". The likes also boost pro-Romney tweets.

They will meet again on November 15 in Orlando, Fla., for a spot in the Nations League semifinal. Pulisic had a point-blank shot saved by goalkeeper Milan Borjan in the 51st minute.

But many on Twitter were quick to remind Huckabee, Trump Jr. and other Romney critics that the president has repeatedly used pseudonyms and fake names in the past.

Social media users quickly became obsessed with the freaky moniker the senator chose for his alter ego.

Some pointed out that this also isn't the first time Romney has adopted a false identity. That safe space is now ruined: world, meet the 72-year-old's Twitter alias, Pierre Delecto.

Several people suggested they would dress as Romney's alter ego for Halloween.
